Roles / Permissions

Roles functionality with the Byphone system can be accessed by authorised personnel with the Users tab. A “Top Role” is created by default that the Byphone system administrator (the first user created on the system) is part of. This administrator is then able to delegate access to other users through the user of custom groups and a set of permissions customised to suit their role.

Groups

  1. To create a Role Group click on the Add Group option
  2. Give the Group a name relevant to its intended members i.e. Managers, Team Leaders, Sales, Support, Finance etc.
  3. Then click on the Add Group button
  4. You should now see your Group (square icon) alongside your administrator user (circle icon)
  5. Click on the new Group
  6. Click on the Show “Group Name” Settings button
  7. Here you can edit the permissions the users allocated to this Group will have
  8. Once satisfied, click on the Save Settings button
  9. Now add the desired users to this Group
  10. If the Users of this Group are to have access to other users in the system, a subgroup would then need to be created within this new Group with the accessible users in that subgroup
