Bundles and Top up Credit

Currently, the Byphone system is based on a prepaid credit system, mainly as a fraud prevention tool. There are at present 3 different minute bundles and 1 top-up balance, which we will cover in more depth below.

UK Landline Minutes

This bundle allows the users on the Byphone system the ability to dial UK landline numbers, that is number that begin 01, 02 or 03. This is a simple minutes balance and is deducted in real-time as calls are made. Minutes can be added in increments of 100 and renew monthly. This balance can also be amended during the month to increase your allowance, but any downgrade will not affect cost until the start of the following month.

UK Mobile Minutes

This bundle allows the users on the Byphone system the ability to dial UK mobile numbers, that is numbers that begin with 071-079. This is also deducted in real-time as calls are made from the system. Mobile minutes can be added in increments of 50 and also renew monthly. Again, this balance can be amended during the month to increase your allowance, but any downgrade will not affect cost until the start of the following month.

Unlimited Landline & Mobile Calls

This bundle provides users on the system with the ability to make calls to UK landline and mobile numbers, for a flat fee per month as much as they require (subject to fair usage terms). It is also tracked in real-time and renews monthly. If this bundle is chosen, then the previous 2 minutes bundles are unnecessary.

International & Premium Credit

This balance covers all other calls not included in the aforementioned bundles. This includes calls to all other UK numbers, such as Premium and Business rate numbers, and any numbers outside the UK. This is charged on a pence-per-minute basis, and the rate card can be viewed on our main website. This balance does not automatically renew and must be monitored and topped up manually, to ensure no interruption to the service. International and Premium calls are the main target for fraudulent calls in the UK, due to the increased cost and gain for any potential hackers. This balance limits an organisation's potential exposure, should anything so unfortunate occur.

Balance alerts can be configured for this top-up balance when the current amount drops below the desired threshold. This can be achieved from the system Dashboard as per below:

Within the Top Up History pane on the dashboard, you will see the most recent instances of amount and date/times of top-ups that have been applied via the Top Up Credit button.

The Manage Alerts button allows an Admin user set the desired threshold, as per the image below. These alerts will be sent to the email address associated with the organisation itself. The toggle to enable alerts must be selected and the slider to set the monetary threshold. As you can see from the image, the organisation email address can be set within Menu > Settings > Email Address
